Description and contextualization of the subject

The goal of the Master's Thesis is to show that students understand how markets function, are able to interpret the data they generate, and know how apply state-of-the-art methods used in economics nowadays. A way to achieve this goal is to replicate the results of a research article published in a leading journal, using data from another population. In this case, the contribution of the Master's Thesis is to provide external validity to the original research. It is typically the case that, in the process of replicating the results of the targeted research piece, students came up with other interesting questions they are able to answer and therefore contribute additional evidence to the issue being analyzed.
