The Master’s in Digital Manufacturing degree programme is developed in a dual model, based on the principle of complementarity of learning in an academic environment and in a professional environment. This training method is carried out in alternation between the university and the company, which means that 40% of the course credits will be awarded within or in collaboration with an entity or company. These credits, in particular, are compulsory subjects: Practicum (Curricular Work Placement) for 23 ECTS credits, Methodology and Research Project for 7 ECTS credits and Master's Thesis for 6 ECTS credits.
The selection of students and companies and the association between them involves the following process:
- Companies that are interested in offering work placement to the students fill out the "Master's student application" document, in which they specify the desired profile.
- Our Corporate Relations Team identifies and validates their scope for the successful development of the alternation. At the same time, it verifies that they have a real project that would make it possible to achieve the pedagogical objectives.
- The people who are interested in the same pre-enrol in the Master's degree programme and the Dual Engineering University School of IMH shortlists the candidates by assessing their merits according to the criteria specified in the "Access" section.
- Once the participating companies have been selected, taking into account the profiles that they have specified, the CVs of the candidates shortlisted by the Dual Engineering University School of IMH are sent to them. The criterion used for sending the CVs is that the basic education of the candidate (bachelor's degree that gives access to the master's degree) fits the profile specified by the company. Once the company has reviewed the CVs of the students, it conducts the personal interviews as it considers appropriate. The decision on the final selection of each student lies with each of these companies and, thus, the students selected by the companies will be those who finally enrol in the Master's degree programme.
- The enrolled students formalise the employment contracts with the companies. On the other hand, the student, the Dual Engineering University School of IMH and the company sign a tripartite training agreement.
