Dr Alberto López Arraiza is a Full Professor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) with two six-year research periods. Regarding academic qualifications, he is an Industrial Engineer (2000) and has a PhD in Materials Engineering (2008) from the School of Engineering in Bilbao (UPV / EHU). His professional experience has been carried out in a private company (Aqualia SAU), a private university (Escuela Politécnica de Mondragón) and a technology centre (Ideko S.Coop.). Since September 2011 he was a lecturer/researcher in the Department of Navigation Sciences and Techniques, Machines and Naval Constructions and after disappearing on 12/31/2022, he has become part of the Department of Graphic Expression and Engineering Projects of the School of Engineering in Bilbao.
The main research lines are the following: ´Composite materials reinforced with both synthetic and natural fibers (design, mechanical characterization and non-destructive inspection), ´Life Cycle Assessment of new products´, ´Marine Hydrodinamics´ and ´Design and Manufacturing of Biomedical devices´.
