Senior lecturer in the Department of Research and Diagnostic Methods in Education at the University of the Basque Country.
Expert in educational measurement and evaluation. He has taken part in numerous programs of evaluation and research centres and has published articles and books, notable amongst which are: Análisis de ítems y de tests con ITEMAN (Item and test analysis with ITEMAN) (University of the Basque Country) and Evaluación Educativa (Educational Evaluation) (Alianza).
PhD. in Pedagogy, B.A. Degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences (Pedagogy section) and Diploma in Teaching
Deputy Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences of the University of the Basque Country (1997-2000).
Director of the Department of Research and Diagnostic Methods in Education of the University of the Basque Country (2003-2009).
Member of the Scientific Committee of the Basque Institute for Non-University Educational Evaluation and Research (ISEI-IVEI) (2002-2014).
He has directed five doctoral theses. He has participated in more than 50 projects or research contracts, being in 14 of them the main researcher.
He is co-author of 60 scientific articles, 12 books and 11 book chapters and about 100 contributions in national and international conferences.
