I work as an adjunct teacher at the Didactics of the Languages and Literatures Department at the School of Education and Sport of the University of the Basque Country (Vitoria). I graduated with a degree in English Studies from the University of the Basque Country. I hold her PhD from the Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures Department at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. My PhD dissertation is entitled “Unlearning the multiple significations of Emiliano Zapata: Towards a decolonial reading,” where I examine some of the multiple representations of the revolutionary leader in the twentieth century Mexican cultural production.

My research interests rely mostly in the intersection of gender and popular culture in the creation of individual and collective identities. I am immersed in projects related to the strategies that female improvisers develop as tools for education in the Basque Country and Latin America. In addition, I am currently visiting schools where we do workshops related to the representation of women in textbooks.

I have participated in a number of national and international conferences, in addition to publishing in her research area(s). She has also published the book 50 veces rebelde (Erein, 2019), along with María Orcasitas-Vicandi, PhD (EHU) and the illustrator Ángela García Mardones, in addition to research articles related to the fields above illustrated.
