My professional, teaching and research career focuses on the area of Graphic Design, with special interest in the study of Typography, Calligraphy and Lettering. I have a degree (2009) and a Phd (2015) in Fine Arts (UPV/EHU). In 2016 I took the specialization course in Digital Typography Design, with the Unos Tipos Duros collective (Madrid). Another relevant activity in my training has been my specialization in the practice of historical calligraphies such as Roman, Uncial, Gothic or Chancellor. I am currently working as Associate Professor at the University of the Basque Country, teaching subjects like Graphic Design, Methodology, Packaging or Interactive Design in the Degree of Creation and Desing.

My research activity focuses on the analysis and design of Typographic Systems, with typographies such as Alaia and Kresala. The publications I would like to highlight are: El diseño de tipos, una experiencia dulce y severa, 2016, (https://www.unostiposduros.com/el-diseno-de-tipos-una-experiencia-dulce-y-severa/), Typography and Geometry in an information graphic, (2CO International Design Conference, 2017), as well as the book Diseño de iconos y pictogramas, published by Campgràfic (Valencia 2015), which includes a methodology for the construction of linguistic and iconographic signs in a synchronous way.
