Degree in Arts from the University of Saragossa (1989) and Doctorate in History from the Public University of Navarre (2003). He is a Senior Lecturer in Modern History at the University of the Basque Country. He is a member of the Research Group “Biography and Parliament” (IT 1263/19)) and participates in the Research Project “Biografía colectiva y análisis prosopográfico más allá del Parlamento” (MINECOG18/P13).
Specialized in the history of languages and nationalisms, he is the author of some thirty publications on this issue, counting books, book chapters and academic articles, in half a dozen different languages. Lately he researches the representative institutions of the Ancien Régime, especially those of the Basque territories.
