Competencies

  • Ability to use and generate scientific knowledge.
  • Acquiring mastery of the knowledge and methods of Contemporary History that will enable subsequent doctoral studies.
  • Acquiring specialized training in the knowledge of different fields of Contemporary History.
  • Acquiring the particular perspectives of the Social Sciences related to Contemporary History.
  • Being able to read, summarize or transcribe historical documents in an appropriate form.
  • Communication skills: students will be able to communicate their scientific knowledge and arguments to specialist and non-specialist publics in a clear and ordered form, both orally and in writing.
  • Critical reasoning and the capacity to analyze, synthesize and interpret the problems and processes of Contemporary History: students will be able to integrate knowledge and formulate propositions on the basis of the available information.
  • Demonstrating deep knowledge of the different methodological approaches and historical tendencies related to the Contemporary Age.
  • Familiarity with the main fields of current research in the different branches of Contemporary History.
  • Motivation to seek quality and constant improvement to obtain results of excellence.
  • Self-learning ability: students will acquire skills that enable them to further develop their understanding of Contemporary History.
  • Skill in using the new communication technologies for learning, understanding and assimilating the teaching content (both theoretical and practical) of the Master's course, as well as for obtaining relevant information.
  • Writing essays or syntheses with a historiographical character, as well as research works, using the particular language and rules of scientific communication.
