Bachelor (1987) Doctor (1993) in Geography and History from the UPV/EHU. Professor since 1992, Secretary of the Contemporary History Department (1998 to 2006) and Vice Dean of the Faculty of CC. H.H. and of the Communication (2006 to 2011).



He has taught courses in the doctoral program of the Contemporary History Department until 2013, as well as at the Universidad Veracruzana, Xalapa (Mexico), between 2004 and 2005 and in the Interuniversity Master in Contemporary History since 2014.



His lines of research are focused on the field of Urban History, specifically in the processes of configuration, construction, management and development of collective and private transport infrastructure, urban services such as water supply, collection of solid waste and liquids, lighting, etc. It is part of the Research Group of Historical Demography and Urban History, attached to the Basque University System. In this regard, he has participated in dozens of research projects endowed with public and private funds, as a member of the research team in some, and IP in others.



The research activity has provided three six-year terms until the actulity: Positive assessment CNEAI, (1989 to 1996, 1999 to 2005 and 2006 to 2012). Positive evaluations of Complements to the Research of the Faculty, UPV / EHU: C1, C2, B1, B2, B3.
