Dr. Benito-Butrón Ochoa is Associate Lecturer of Labour and Social Security Law at the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea. He holds a PhD in Law, a Diploma in Economics from the University of Deusto and a Degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Alcalá de Henares.

His main activity is Social Magistrate at the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country (Bilbao).

He also belongs to the “Cuerpo Superior de Letrados de la Administración de la Seguridad Social” (on leave of absence), which advises and represents the Social Marine Institute/Instituto Social de la Marina (ISM).

He is a full member of the Spanish Association of Labour and Social Security Law, honorary member of the International Association of Experts in Labour Law “Alonso Olea”. Awarded for the best Spanish labour lawyer in 2005. Member of the Basque Academy of Law. Member of the Basque Observatory on Discrimination and Moral Harassment at Work.

He has attended and participated in numerous seminars, workshops, conferences and courses related to these same lines of research. He has also published several publications on the subject.
