Since 2005, he's been working at the College of Engineering of Vitoria-Gasteiz. He is a lecturer at the Department of Energy Engineering. He has completed his PhD thesis in Denmark RISOE-DTU on the fluidodynamic CFD simulation for the aolic turbine flow control systems, with the result of the excellent CUM-LAUDE. Unai is an expert in CFD and has more than 70 scientific articles (Hindex = 17) in JCR (Journal Citation Report). It is taught in the Fluids Mechanics and in the fluid dynamic simulation of CFD (Computer Fluid Dynamics). He has a great learning experience, which is supported by the coordination of various national and international projects. He has been a guest professor at several universities in Latin America, the Catalan Polytechnic University and Technical University of Denmark. He is the co-ordinator of several of his own titles at the College of Engineering (funded by the Forest Adventures of Arabia) and teaches at Erasmus MUNDUS. In August 2017, he was awarded the highest award at the 2017 European Congress on Renewables Energy ECRES conference in Sarajevo.

I am the author of 115 scientific publications, of which 73 are JCR indexed (25 Q1 First Quarter publications), and a total of 1376 citations (505 Web of Science, 562 Scopus, 598 Google Scholar).

I've participated in 36 research projects, funded with 487,347.00 euros. I've given 12 lessons, with an average score of 4.04 at the polls. I've corrected 58 papers by the end of the year.
