Sergio García Gómez holds a PhD in Shipbuilding from the University of Cantabria. International Welding Engineer (IWE-ES-1278). Lecturer in the Department of Navigational Sciences and Techniques and Naval Constructions of the Higher Technical School of Nautical Science - University of Cantabria (2015-present), assistant PhD Assistant Professor and accredited as Full Professor of University.

Member of the Biofouling Research Group of the University of Cantabria. He has extensive experience in research tasks associated with the study of biofouling in offshore structures and heat exchangers, both in experimental tests and in simulation processes using Computational Fluid Mechanics (CFD) of ship hull models and heat exchangers. His research papers have been presented at more than 20 international conferences and in 14 high impact international journals (JCR). He holds 4 patents. He has participated in several national and company collaboration projects. Index h-8.
