Objectives
Our lab is currently focused on :
- Understanding the molecular mechanisms leading to familial hypercholesterolemia and cardiovascular disease
- Developing new forms of familial hypercholesterolemia early diagnosis.
- . Design of nanoparticles with different lipid composition to explore their efficacy in reverse cholesterol transport.
We have extensive experience in the areas of cardiovascular diseases, biophysics and in vitro functional mechanistic studies.
Ongoing Research:
- In vitro characterization of LDLR, PCSK9, ApoB100 and ApoE variants to understand molecular aspects of familial hypercholesterolemia and improving genetic diagnosis.
- Use of reconstituted HDL in theranostics.
- Mechanisms of Statin-asociated development of Type 2 Diabetes: role of microRNAs
