Jasone Astorga received her BSc and MSc degrees in Telecommunication Engineering (specialization in telematics) in 2004 and her PhD in 2013 (special award) from the UPV/EHU. From 2008, she is a professor at the UPV/EHU, where she teaches subjects related to telecommunication networks and security of networks and services, both in the Bachelor's Degree In Telecommunications Engineering and in the Telecommunications Engineering Master Degree. She participates also in the PhD programs Electronics and Telecommunications and Information Technologies and Communications in Mobile Networks “.
From 2004 to 2007 she worked at Nextel S. A., a Telecommunications enterprise, working in the integration, maintenance and securization of networks and systems. In 2007, she joined the I2T (Research and Engineering in Telematics) research lab, recognized by the Basque Government as A level. In 2016, she gave the opening lesson at the opening ceremony for the 2016-2017 academic year of the UPV/EHU, entitled “Building the Internet of people”. She has been co-supervisor of 2 PhD theses, one of them with international mention. She has participated in more than 20 research projects and has co-authored more than 20 publications in research journals, 13 of them indexed in relevant positions of the Journal Citation Reports, and more than 25 publications in relevant conferences of her research field.
