Jon Iñaki Arrizubieta is an Associate Professor of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) since the 2018. He completed his doctoral thesis in the field of laser additive processing and is currently an active member of the Laser Material Processing division, directed by prof. Lamikiz, which belongs to the High Performance Manufacturing Group. Besides, he is a professor attached to the Aeronautics Advanced Manufacturing Center (CFAA), which is headed by prof. Lopez de Lacalle. His work is focused mainly on the repair of high added value parts by laser additive manufacturing, focusing mainly on the aeronautical and automotive sectors.
During the PhD he received a grant from Obra Social La Caixa Foundation and the did an internship at the IPT Fraunhofer in Aachen, which resulted in a co-direction from the current director of the ACAM, Kristian Arntz, and prof. Lamikiz. The thesis obtained the second prize to the best thesis of Mechanical Engineering of Spain, as well as the Extraordinary Doctorate Award of the UPV/EHU.
He currently has more than ten relevant publications in indexed journals, as well as, contributions at national and international conferences. He also participates in various national (Addiclean, Aporta …) and international projects (Paraddise, Poctefa …)
