Dr. Ortzi Akizu-Gardoki has been lecturing since 2011 and he is an Associate Professor since 2019 at the Faculty of Engineering of Bilbao of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). He is lecturing “Graphics in Engineering” in the first year of Bachelor's Degree, and “Life Cycle Thinking” at two Master Degrees. He is a member of the “Ekopol: transition pathways” Research Team, where he is developing research about footprint analysis, using LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and MRIO (Multi Regional Input-Output) methodologies. His main research is focused in the analysis of the ongoing energy transitions, particularly calculating the energy footprint embodied in goods and services. In his research, is collaborating with the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), Tecnalia Reseach Centre, and Ecologists in Action social movement.
