Acquired skills
These are the main competences for which this degree will qualify you:
- To gain knowledge and understand the meaning and pertinence of theories, concepts and methodologies for observing phenomena within the political arena.
- To identify the political players within a given context, their capabilities and their behaviour, in order to analyse their effects on the political system and foresee scenarios.
- To prepare indicators by operating with quantitative and qualitative data, for identifying, analysing and assessing different facets of political phenomena, and institutional and administrative procedures.
- To succinctly analyse the information on political issues and society's needs, developing a critical attitude and using intellectual and moral rigour in their professional duties.
- To understand electoral processes, from the formation and expression of political preferences through to the representational logic of democratic systems, for the design of political communication campaigns, the definition of post-electoral scenarios and the interpretation of their results.
- To understand international policy through the identification of its players, its institutional, organisational and political structure, and its interaction with other areas, in order to analyse the processes of regionalisation and regional integration worldwide and identify new decision-making scenarios.
- To understand the approaches to governance and the processes of adopting public objectives and political decisions, with a view to planning, implementing, assessing and analysing public policies.
- To understand the structure and workings of political systems and institutions from a comparative perspective, for identifying their components, their legal operating framework, interpreting their interrelationship, drawing conclusions on their operations and proposing alternatives.
- To understand the structure, organisation and modus operandi of the different levels of the Public Administrations in order to arrange processes of administrative planning and management .
