Medicine Doctor from the UPV/EHU, with the thesis Utility of the Barber Questionnaire to detect people aged 75 or more at risk of hospitalization, institutionalization, or death. Specialist in Family and Community Medicine, also course Introduction to Primary Care taught by the Primary Care Department of the University of Newcastle (England) (1990). Work as a general practitioner in the San Ignacio Health Center in Bilbao, as well as trainer of Family and Community Medicine. Interim Professor at the UPV/EHU, General Pathology Department, Medicine.



Expert in the care to the elderly from primary care. Member of the PAPPS-semFYC group and the Work group of Attention to the elderly of the semFYC. Speaker and teacher in numerous courses and educational and scientific activities related to this topic.



Research activity. Author in >100 national and international publications. in research projects with external funding: Creation and testing of the VALACAN tool for multidimensional assessment-structured action in the elderly, based on predefined diagnoses, FUNCIPLUR project for the assessment of functionality in multi-pathological patients, TELBIL project of telemonitoring of complex patients from primary care, creation and validation of the VIDA questionnaire for the assessment of instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) in the elderly, etc. Reviewer for national and international publications.
