Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country (1986). Specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapy (1991).
He began his work as an Area Specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapy at the Txagorritxu Hospital in 1991. He is currently Head of the Hematology Service of the University Hospital of Araba (integrated in the Integrated Health Organization of Araba).
Hematology Resident Tutor from 2008 to 2013 at the Araba University Hospital.
Associate Professor at the University of the Basque Country (since 2011).
President of the North Hematology Association (since 2006).
Member of the Interterritorial Group of the Spanish Society of Hematology.
His areas of interest are the oncohematological clinic and pathologies of coagulation.
Since the last years he has participated as a speaker in several meetings on hematological neoplasms, Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria and Primary Immune Thrombopenia.
He has also participated as a teacher in several accredited courses on Nocturnal Paroxysmal Hemoglobinuria and Primary Immune Thrombopenia.
Participates in several clinical trials in oncohematology.
Member of the pharmacy corporate committee of the Basque Country since 2017.
