Zuriñe Sanz-Villar has a degree in Translation Studies from the University of Heidelberg (2008) and in 2015 she defended her PhD thesis on the translation of phraseological units from German into Basque at the University of the Basque Country, where she works as a teacher and researcher. Her main research lines are corpus-based descriptive translation studies, the translation of phraseological units, translation didactics and natural language processing. So far, she has done three research stays: in 2013 she spent three months at the IDS (Institute for the German Language) in Mannheim (Germany), in 2014 at the Center for Basque Studies in Reno (USA) and in January 2017 in the Department of German Studies and Linguistics at Humboldt University (Germany). Her working languages are Basque, Spanish, German and English.
