Graduate in Basque Philology from the UPV/EHU in 1985.
Corresponding member of Euskaltzaindia, appointed in 1996.
PhD in 2016 with the thesis "Materials for a comparative stylistics of the translation from Basque to Spanish: relative explanatory sentences in literary translations from Basque to Spanish".
Course 1999-2000, at the Italian University of Istituto Orientale di Napoli, visiting professor of Tipologia e Morfosintassi della Lingua Basca.
Course 2000-01 associate professor of the UPV/EHU in the Department of Basque Philology.
2003-2012: at the Faculty of Arts of the UPV/EHU, associate professor of the University, in the Department of Romance Philology and Theory of Hispanic Literature.
From 2012 onwards, at the Faculty of Arts of the UPV/EHU, a collaborating professor of the University, in the Department of Linguistics and Basque Studies.
