Dolores Encinas Malagón has a degree in Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid (1988). In 1993, defended at the UPV/EHU her Doctoral Thesis entitled “Estudio y cuantificación de las deposiciones contaminantes en Olaeta (CAPV)” which obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in Engineering and Technology knowledge área. She did research stays in France (Centre de Recherches Atmosfériques) and in Rome (Istituto sull’Inquinamento Atmosferico).

In 2001, she has been a professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering in Vitoria-Gasteiz and, since 2016, she holds a position as Associate Professor.

She has been the coordinator of the Department´s section of Alava and is currently the Deputy Director of Academic Organization.

She has participated in several Educational Research Projects and is the co-author of 12 teaching material publications (books, handbooks and on-line subjects). She is a member of the IKD structured teaching team INgurumen INgeniaritza IrauNkortasunarentzat.

During 16 years (1988-2005) she participated in 11 research projects, forming part of the Programa EPOCA. After that, she has participated in other 6 research projects, most of them related to air pollution. She is the co-author of 3 books, 17 book chapters and 14 articles, and more than 30 publications presented at national and international conferences.
