Graduated in 1997 in Geological Sciences from the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU) and PhD in 2003 in Geological Sciences from the same university, obtaining the Cum Laude qualification.

Her teaching career began in 2004, joining as a professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology (Stratigraphy and Paleontology department) until 2008 and later to the School of Engineering of Bilbao in 2009 to the present.

Currently occupy a position as an associate professor in the Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science and in this department she is academic secretary since 2017.

She has participated in 17 research projects and is currently part of group A of the Basque university system. She has published as a co-author 29 research articles, 3 books and 3 book chapters and has more than 30 contributions to congresses.

Her lines of research are focused on three main axes:

-Study of environmental changes in the Quaternary of the Bay of Biscay (Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology).

-Paleolimnological study of the Neogene in the Ebro and Duero Basin.

-Geodiversity studies in the Cantabrian Basque Basin.
