Industrial Engineer, in the specialty of Mechanical Engineering (1989) and Doctor Industrial Engineer (1994) by the UPV / EHU. He started to work in the UPV/EHU in 1989. Then, during the period from 1993 to 1998, he worked as an industrial engineer in the Basque Government. He is associate professor since 2000 in the area of knowledge of Mechanics of Continuous Media and Theory of Structures, teaching different subjects such as Geotechnics, Theory of Structures, Technology of Structures I, etc.
Also, he has been Deputy Director of the Faculty of Mining and Civil Engineering (2006-2009) and Director of Quality of the Campus of Bizkaia (2009-2011). Since 2013, he is the Coordinator of the Degree in Civil Engineering.
He belongs to the research group Modeling and experimental dynamics of structural systems, coauthoring 25 scientific articles and book chapters, and 35 contributions to national and international congresses. He has two six-year terms recognized by CNEAI. His lines of research are focused on the modeling of connections in machine tools, and the optimization of the dynamic behavior of these machines using numerical, statistical and experimental methods.
