He has a BSc in Civil Engineering, specialized in Civil Construction (2001), a BSc in Civil Engineering, specialized in Urban Transports and Services (2002) and a MSc in Civil Engineering (2005) from the University of Burgos. He has also a MSc in Industrial Organization Engineering (2008) and he is an International PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Basque Country.
After working as a Construction Engineer at construction site in a construction firm in some of the most important civil works in Biscay (2005-2011), in the 2011/12 academic year he joined the Mechanical Engineering Department, in the area of Construction and has thought in the Civil Engineering degrees, mainly subjects related to roads and railways. At present, he is Professor. He has been Vice dean of Academic Organization at the University College of Technical Mining and Civil Engineering (2013-2015).
He has published more than 15 JCR articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has participated in international congresses. He has published 6 academic manuals.
His research is focused on the road pavements: pavement deterioration models, performance of pavement layers, employment of waste materials in bituminous mixes and pavement recycling. He also research about tunnelling and lining.
