Telecommunications Engineer and Doctor in Electronic Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU) with a distinction Summa Cum Laude.
After working as a Project Engineer in the TELEK S.L company for a year, then he joined the university. First, at the University of Mondragón for 2 years and subsequently at the UPV / EHU, from 2003 to the present. Since 2014 he is Associate Professor of the Department of Electronic Technology of the UPV / EHU in the School of Engineering of Gipuzkoa (Donostia-San Sebastián).
He has participated in 8 projects financed from provincial, autonomous, state and European funds in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical Engineering, in collaboration with the Computational Intelligence Group of the UPV / EHU, the Biodonostia Health Institute and the Vicomtech Technology Center.
These projects have resulted in 6 articles indexed in JCR and more than 15 publications in Scopus. He has also presented oral communications in international conferences including CARS (Geneva), MICCAI (Toronto) and WCCI (Brisbane).
He has made research stays in international centers, specifically in Reno (USA) and Auckland (New Zealand). Both of one month period.
The current research areas are those related to processing of electronic signals of physical activity data, obtained through wearables sensors, by artificial intelligence.
