Description and Contextualization of the SubjectToggle Navigation

The basic objective of the Final Year Project (FYP) is that students demonstrate their maturity when it comes to tackling their own subject, theoretical or practical, of the degree in an autonomous way and to reinforce those competencies that enable them to practice professionally.

Skills/Learning outcomes of the subjectToggle Navigation

The FYP must be oriented to the application of the general competences associated with the degree, to train for the search, management, organization, and interpretation of relevant data, normally from its area of study, to make judgments that include a reflection on relevant topics of Scientific and/or technological nature, and that facilitates the development of critical, logical, and creative thinking and judgment. The training activities may be of a broad nature and will be aimed at the development and application of the skills acquired throughout the bachelor’s degree.

Specifically, the FYP must be oriented to the application of the following competences associated with the degree: c1. To be able to plan, organize and manage the project.

c2. To be able to search, manage and use the information. c3. To show capacity for critical analysis and synthesis.

c4. To synthesize the skills acquired in the degree through the development and the defense of a project.

c5. To show the ability to acquire new knowledge, have initiative and creativity, and approach the resolution of real practical problems autonomously.

c6. To use productively and efficiently computer tools to support the design, development and operation of electronic devices, circuits, and systems.

c7. To be able to communicate in writing knowledge, results and ideas related to Electronic Engineering, write and document reports on the projects carried out.

c8. To present effectively and meaningfully knowledge, results and ideas related to EE, and more particularly, expose and defend projects in public and in examining boards.

In addition, students should relate the FYP to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

MethodologyToggle Navigation

The FYP shall comprise the following activities:

1) Individualized tutorials. To be decided by the director.

2) Autonomous work of the student guided by his/her director in the phases of development, delivery, exposure, and defense of the FYP.

3) Seminars. The FYP includes an obligation to attend a series of seminars. The list of seminars is as follows:

• Búsqueda bibliográfica (Bibliographical research)

• Normas básicas de redacción del TFG (Basic Rules for the FYP writing)

• Normas básicas para la presentación del FYP (Basic Rules for the FYP presentation)

• Organización del TFG (Organisation of the FYP)

This does not prevent that each individual FYP does not need specialized seminars at the request of the director or directors.
