Course outline
Acquired skills
These are the main competences for which this degree will qualify you:
- SC01: A knowledge of current physics and understanding of how to solve problems, identifying the main physical principles involved.
- SC02: A knowledge of areas of physics of particular importance currently and in the future for electronic engineering.
- SC03: High-level capabilities for abstraction, using mathematics as a way of representing problems and models, fostering the ability to draw analogies, recognized types of problems and handle analytical techniques for solving them.
- SC06: An ability to conduct experiments, including the handling of measuring instruments, to predict orders of magnitude, to present results and errors and to analyse results obtained, comparing them with those expected.
- SC07: A knowledge of the numerical calculus techniques most relevant to electronic engineering (EE), the use of generic programs in EE and a knowledge of programming in high and low level languages.
- SC08: An ability to recognize the basics of EE and to use them to acquire sufficient cross-sectoral knowledge and to tackle problems in all areas of the field where basic techniques are involved.
- SC09: An ability to handle confidential methods and tools associated with EE for the simulation of devices, circuits and systems, and to recognise the models used.
- SC10: A more in-depth top-down and bottom-up knowledge of some specialist areas, involving higher levels of scientific/technical competence or better preparation for subsequent studies.
- SC12: A knowledge of and an ability to describe, analyse, design, validate and optimise electronic devices, circuits and systems plus prototypes in various areas of application (ICTs, sensors, data acquisition and processing, instrumentation, control, etc).
- TC01: An ability to analyse, synthesise and apply group work methods in a self-directed fashion.
- TC03: Skills in planning, management, organisation and communication (oral, written and multimedia).
- TC05: The ability to learn, to undertake subsequent studies and to work in a self-directed fashion.
- TC06: Abilities in critical thinking and creativity in self-directed and group environments.
- TC07: Abilities in decision-making, the taking of responsibility, leadership and commitment to quality.
- TC08: An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to adapt to new situations.
