Education



Amaia Butron earned her BSc, and MSc in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in Donostia-San Sebastián. Later she obtained a PhD in Chemical Sciences, Chemical-Physical specialty, Faculty of Sciences, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Leioa under the supervision of Prof. Issa Katime Amashta.



She is an associate professor in the University College of Technical Mining and Civil Engineering (EHU) since 2011. A. Butron is a thermal analysis specialist with experience in Calorimetry techniques; DSC, High Resolution Thermogravimetry and Microthermal Analysis.





Research



Her research has been focused on mechanical properties and characterization of polymers as bicomponent sistems with interest in the curing behavior.



Her fields of interest include also the preparation and characterization of nanocelulose based biopolymers for medicinal aplications.
