This lesson has 6 credits and is located in Module VI of Social Education: Social and Educational intervention.

Skills/Learning outcomes of the subjectToggle Navigation

Socio-educational intervention to improve parental educational practices and the development of children. Group parenting training. Advice on family diversity. Family mediation. Family preservation. Related to core 1 of module 6 and competencies C2, C4, C5, C6, C8 and C9.

Theoretical and practical contentToggle Navigation

Family orientation and Social Education. The concept of family: a construction from diversity. Levels of Family Guidance. Various approaches to family socio-educational intervention. Fields of study and intervention.

Theoretical frameworks for the study of the family Contributions of the main psychological and sociological approaches. An ecosystemic and dynamic perspective of the family. Basic psychosociological processes of family dynamics.

Socio-educational intervention models aimed at families. Contributions of the main socio-educational intervention models.

Educational-interactional processes in the family. Parenting educational styles. The educational mediation of the family in the development processes of their children. Family co-responsibility and the participation of children in tasks and family life. Communication in the family. Discipline in the family. Conflict resolution in family life.

Family diversity and intervention. Counseling for families with children with special educational needs. Family mediation in divorce, single parenthood and reconstitution processes. Advice and training of adoptive families.

Family preservation Families with minors at risk of lack of protection. Abuse of minors in the family. Mediation in the protection of minors. Prevention and intervention strategies and programs aimed at families with minors in situations of risk and lack of social protection.

MethodologyToggle Navigation

Master classes (CM): In the master class, presentations of the fundamental contents will be made.

Classroom practices (PA): Realization, analysis and discussion of the theoretical-practical activities proposed for each topic and complemented by other individual and group activities that the students will contribute.

Students who do not pass the subject in the ordinary call, regardless of the evaluation system chosen therein, will have the right to take the exams and evaluation activities that make up the final evaluation test of the extraordinary call.

The evaluation of the subject in the extraordinary call will be carried out exclusively through the final evaluation system (already described in the ordinary call).
