Acquired skills
These are the main competences for which this degree will qualify you:
- Students are expected to be able to analyse and assess actual social circumstances and the different settings for socio-educational action, with a view to making judgements that include thoughts concerning matters related to the profession.
- Students are expected to be able to energise, organise and manage groups, resources, services and organisations, creating and using strategies and techniques suitable for solving the problems and difficulties detected.
- Students are expected to be able to express ideas, arguments, problems and solutions concerned with socio-educational topics orally to a range of audiences.
- Students are expected to be able to generate contexts in which educational relationships and social networks can be established, promoting personal, group and community development.
- Students are expected to be able to interpret information from different investigations and to design and develop innovation processes in the field of socio-educational action so as to enable socio-educational problems to be solved.
- Students are expected to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the theoretical (psychological, sociological and pedagogical) basics of socio-educational action and their scope for action as professionals, plus a knowledge of the social, educational and cultural policies and legislation on which the relevant processes are based.
- Students are expected to demonstrate the ability to draw up documents concerned with their profession in different contexts, tailored to different audiences.
- Students are expected to develop socio-educational actions based on ethical principles and respect for the code of practice of the profession.
- Students are expected to know how to design, develop and assess socio-educational plans, projects and programmes to cater for perceived needs, with special attention to groups in situations of risk and/or exclusion and to the needs for support and training of specialists themselves.
- Students are expected to maintain a positive attitude towards ongoing education and training that can help to improve socio-educational action and professional development.
