Como metodología fundamental se utiliza la resolución de problemas, tras una exposición de los conceptos esenciales de cada tema.
Para las prácticas del Método de elementos finitos con ordenador, se propondrán dos tipos de diseños: uno de ellos común a todo el grupo de clase, y el otro a elegir por el propio alumno, lo que permite ver con más amplitud el proceso global de diseño ( establecimiento de hipótesis de trabajo, cargas, materiales,...)
