Graduated in Chemistry at Universidad de Valladolid with Final Degree Thesis in 1983, PhD in Organic Chemistry in 1989 at UPV/EHU. Full Professor since 1992, Vicedean at Pharmacy Faculty (2005-2017). She is coordinator of the Degree in Environmental Sciences (2019).

She has participated in 22 Research Projects, co-autored 57 research articles and 18 contributions to national and international Conferences in Chemistry. The National Assessment Agency for the Research Activity (CNEAI) has acknowledged her for four six-year periods of research (sexenios).

She is member of the Bioorganic Chemistry and Molecular Modelling Research group, awarded by the Spanish Society for Therapeutic Chemistry with the ALMIRALL, S.A. prize in1987 and the Fundación Dr. Esteve Research award in 2007.

Regarding her teaching activity, she has participated in several Teaching Innovation Projects (PIE 2010-2016) has coauthored one paper and six contributions to Conferences.

She helps in several activities related to students well-being and orientation, as Students’ Tutorization Plan, and to future students, as Open Days’ activities, or University Studies Orientation Days, promoted by UPV/EHU, as well as in Hands On Activities promoted by the Basque Government.
