I am assistant professor and researcher at the UPV/EHU. I holds a degree (2004) and a PhD (2009) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the UPV/EHU. I did my PhD thesis in the area of membrane biophysics at the Biophysics Unit (UPV/EHU-CSIC), under the supervision of Prof. Alicia Alonso. Between 2009 and 2017, I worked as a researcher in the company Laminar Pharmaceuticals, a spin-off of the University of the Balearic Islands. I obtained a Torres-Quevedo contract to investigate nanoparticles combined with synthetic fatty acids in a therapeutic approach against cancer. Afterwards, I focused on the study of synthetic lipids and their application in antitumor and antineurodegenerative therapies. In this postdoctoral period, I also worked as lecturer at the Univ. of the Balearic Islands. From March 2017 until September 2021, I worked at the Biofisika Institute (UPV/EHU-CSIC) studying acute myeloid leukemia. My current research focuses on prostate cancer, in the UPV/EHU research group led by Dr. Verónica Torrano. Since September 2018, I am assistant professor in the degrees of Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

I have participated in 12 research projects, 2 of which as principal investigator, I am coauthor of 23 scientific papers, 2 book chapters, 2 divulgative and 1 educational innovation paper. I have (co-)directed 3 Master Thesis, 16 Final Degree Works and tutored 32 external internships.
