María Merino Maestre is associate professor in the department of Mathematics of the UPV/EHU, with full professor accreditation. She obtained Degree in Science (Mathematics) from the UPV/EHU in 1999 and her PhD in 2005, with a thesis in the field of Stochastic Programming. She is member of the research groups GOE (www.ehu.eus/eu/web/goe), E-opt (www.et.bs.ehu.es/~eopt) and Urban Elika (www.ehu.eus/en/web/urban-elika). The main interest areas are combinatorial optimization and optimization under uncertainty. She is the author of several books, book chapters, and scientific articles, mainly in Operations Research & Management Science area. She is reviewer in EJOR and C&OR. She has participated in many international conferences. She has collaborated in competitive research projects, funded by UPV/EHU, Basque Government, Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the Iberoamerican program CYTED, she is principal investigator of some of them. She has been member of a collaboration agreement with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and other with Osakidetza-BCAM. She has participated in University-Society projects and in contracts of mathematical technology transfer with the company Eroski S. Coop. Moreover, she is BCAM researcher and member of the Mathematics and Statistics doctoral commission in the UPV/EHU.
