In order to achieve something as valuable today as the balanced development of regions, the interdisciplinary analysis and management of geographic spaces, both urban and rural, is fundamental. It is also a question of analysing local and global changes, understanding the causes of differences and inequalities between places or detecting the needs of citizens. Geography and Land Management are responsible for this at local, regional or national level.
The Degree in Geography and Land Management will educate you to use all the technical tools related to the collection, analysis, processing and representation of geographic and cartographic information: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Geomatics… It will also train you to develop appropriate urban planning, also taking into account social, economic, landscape, spatial and environmental aspects.
You can do an external voluntary internship where you will get to know the work of professionals in the field of geography.
Knowledge of Basque is necessary as 96 compulsory ECTS credits are taught exclusively in this language (18 ECTS credits in the first year, 24 ECTS credits in the second year, 30 ECTS credits in the third year and 24 ECTS credits in the fourth year).
