Leire Muguira Urtubi is currently working as an Associate Professor in the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), in the Department of Electronics Technology. She received the PhD degree from the UPV/EHU in 2014. Her PhD thesis’ topic was RF and control systems implementation, monitoring and combination applied to different subsystems present in particle accelerators, leading to an improvement compared to the existing solutions. Her thesis directors were Dr. Víctor Etxebarria Ecenarro and Dr. Joaquín Portilla Rubín from the Electricity and Electronics Department and she obtained the “Cum Laude” distinction.



Leire received the Telecommunications Engineering degree in 2007 from the University of Deusto, ESIDE Faculty of Engineering. She worked as a researcher-engineer at DeustoTech research institute, at the MORElab Research Group. She also worked in the accelerator division, at the Radio Frequency (RF) group of ESS-Bilbao, a strategic center of international reference in neutron technologies.



She is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering of Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the Automotive Engineering Degree. She is member of the Applied Electronics Research Team (APERT) and her main areas of research are high speed circuits based on reconfigurable devices and communications devices.
