Description and Contextualization of the SubjectToggle Navigation

The subject External Practices 1 is part of the set of subjects that are carried out in a collaborating entity. This set of subjects are the following: External Practices 1, External Practices 2, External Practices 3 and External Practices 4.



This set of subjects, called Curricular External Practices, is carried out during 4 stays at the collaborating entity in the 3rd and 4th years. The total hours of this set of subjects is 1050 hours (150, 300, 300, and 300 for the subjects External Practices 1, External Practices 2, External Practices 3 and External Practices 4 respectively).



The students will carry out a professional teaching project throughout the 4 stays, and will conclude with the completion of the Final Degree Project associated with their professional development in the collaborating entity.



According to RD 1707/2011 of November 18, 2011 (BOE of December 10, 2011) which regulates the external academic internships of university students, the objective of these is to allow university students to apply and complement the knowledge purchased in

their academic training, promoting the acquisition of skills that prepare them for the exercise of professional activities, facilitate their employability and promote their entrepreneurial capacity.



As stated in article 3 of the aforementioned RD, the following objectives are intended to be achieved:

a) Contribute to the comprehensive training of students by complementing their theoretical and practical learning.

b) Facilitate knowledge of the work methodology appropriate to the professional reality in which students will have to cooperate, contrasting and applying the acquired knowledge.

c) Promote the development of technical, methodological, personal and participatory skills.

d) Obtain practical experience that facilitates insertion into the labor market and improves future employability.

e) Promote the values ​​of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.



It is necessary to set the educational objectives and the activities to be developed. Students will have a tutor from the collaborating entity and an academic tutor from the University.

The subject External Practices 1, along with the other External Practices subjects, are carried out in a collaborating entity (currently there are more than 35 collaborating entities that participate in the curricular external practices of the Automotive Degree).

Learning outcomes:

1.Identify and learn the technical aspects of the company that will be key to the development of your professional profile in it

2.Observe the application of said knowledge, as well as the rules and regulations that you have to comply with in the development of your activity.

3.Develop a Professional Development Plan, in collaboration with the company and School tutors.

4.Write a report that reflects both the organizational and technical aspects of a company.

5.Join a company and actively participate in the work meetings that are established.

6. Carry out, under the supervision of the company tutor and with the support of the EIVG tutor professor, the action plan included in your Professional Development Plan (PDP).

7.Search, analyze and process the required information, apply the main technical aspects autonomously, be responsible in their work, dialogue, with a special concern for developing the skills and acquiring the necessary knowledge to carry out their work in the company.

8.Develop social skills and negotiation skills in the work environment and, in particular, the work team.

9.Seek new ideas and knowledge, and use these resources to implement practical solutions to problems that may arise in the company environment, both individually and as a team, in an honest and decisive manner.

10.Organize and plan the work to be done, selecting the most appropriate techniques, procedures and work methods.

11.Communicate clearly, both in the context of work meetings and in making oral presentations, and in the preparation of written documentation.

12.Prepare a technical report that describes the characteristics of the intervention carried out in the company.

13.Develop your autonomy to propose solutions to the various problems that arise within the company, considering the resources to be taken into account, and defining an action plan to achieve the objectives defined in your training and in your Work Plan. Professional development.

14.Manage short and medium-term tasks, plan activities respecting work deadlines and will be able to animate and direct meetings, as well as propose ideas within work teams.

15.Manage work groups relying on experts, acquire responsibilities and will have acquired a certain negotiation capacity.

16.Manage projects in the automotive industry applying quality and sustainability standards.

Theoretical and practical contentToggle Navigation

The fundamental objective of this phase of 6 credits (150 hours) is for students to establish a first contact with the company in which they will carry out their dual training experience and make a global observation of the characteristics of their company. your specialty, which deepens the know-how of the company, its objectives and the organization established for it, integrating the knowledge learned at the EUI and adjusting it to the particularity of the company in which you will develop your training period.



You must identify and learn the technical aspects of the company that will be key to the development of your professional profile in it, and you will observe the application of said knowledge, as well as the rules and regulations that you must comply with in the development of your activity.

MethodologyToggle Navigation

In the company, an instructor will be assigned to the student, who will prepare a Professional Development Plan (PDP) for the student, which will contemplate the competencies and learning results that the student wishes to achieve. Said Plan (PDP) will be agreed upon with the student's tutor at the School of Engineering.



At the end of this first period, the student must write a Technical Report on Internships (ITP) that reflects the activity carried out in the collaborating entity, a report that reflects the fundamental aspects of the company, both organizational and technical, which will be evaluated by the assigned teaching staff from the EIVG, in which the assessment of the company instructor will be considered.







The didactic-teaching instruments that will be used in the development of this subject will be:

a.Guided practical instruction by the Collaborating Entity Instructor, and

b.Academic Tutoring by the Academic Tutor, these being a way of organizing the teaching and learning processes that is based on the interaction between the student and the teacher (face-to-face and online tutoring). line, individual or group) aimed at supervising and monitoring the work in the collaborating entity.

Final evaluation.-

The evaluation of the subject is carried out through the final evaluation through:



1) INTERNSHIP: stay at the collaborating entity, weekly registrations, tutorials and the assessment of the company instructor will be considered.



2) EXHIBITION OF WORK: The exhibition of works includes the oral presentation and written presentation of the Technical Practice Report (ITP) of the subject.



The grade for the subject will be the result of:

- The assessment of the company instructor on the Internship, who will take into account the degree of development of the aspects included in the student's Professional Development Plan: 50%

- The assessment of the tutor professor who will evaluate the Work Exhibition (oral presentation and written presentation of the ITP): 50%.



Resignation.-



If a student decides to opt out, the student will make the request following the regulations existing at all times. The student will be responsible for making the resignation within the corresponding deadlines.

In any case, he must always inform the corresponding teacher within the indicated deadlines.

In compliance with the regulations for the management of undergraduate education and other applicable regulations, each student will have the right to a single annual call to pass the corresponding curricular internship subject.
