Damaris Pan (Mallabia, 1983) is an artist, teacher and researcher. She completed her studies of Fine Arts in the EHU-UPV and in the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee in Berlin. In 2014 she defended her Doctoral thesis on the deviation and the anomaly of values as artistic foundation.
She currently works as a teacher in the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the EHU-UPV. She is part of the research group laSIA, from where they explore the subjectivity in practice-based artistic research.
Among the grants she has received, she would underline the art residency at Art Omi (New York) and the recent residency in the Bilbao Arte Foundation (2019).
The material for making and producing an outcome is for her Art (general) and Painting (regular). Also Words. Photos. Cuts, Scraps, Leftovers, Memories. And this is how she does not get out of the problem of the representational technique.
