Description and Contextualization of the SubjectToggle Navigation

The subject of Prevention and Safety at Work in 3rd year of the Degree in Technical Architecture is the continuation of the Introduction to Prevention that is taught in 2nd year, therefore it is recommended that in order to take this subject, students should have passed the 2nd year course.

This course will deepen and broaden the knowledge acquired in the Introduction to Prevention with the aim that the student acquires the necessary skills for the drafting of safety studies and plans. Likewise, special attention will be paid to the study of the figure of the health and safety coordinator in construction works, a figure reserved by law to technical architects, technical engineers, architects and engineers.

exposition of the conceptual contents of the subject, with participation of the students in occasional debates about them.

The resolution of questions and problems in the classroom will be done in a participative way. Students will be provided with problems and exercises to be developed individually or in groups, which will allow them to deepen in the theoretical knowledge of the subject and to relate Prevention with other related areas.

In the computer practices, both individual and group work will be carried out on the issues worked on in the theoretical classes: Preparation of investigation reports of accidents at work, search, analysis and synthesis of the technical regulations, consultation of the web pages recommended for the follow-up of the subject, handling of the necessary documentation for the coordination of safety and in the construction sites.

In the classroom groups we will make oral presentations of articles, technical reports or current news related to the subject.

In the event that health conditions prevent the realization of a face-to-face teaching activity and/or evaluation, a non-face-to-face modality will be activated, of which students will be promptly informed.

Assessment systemsToggle Navigation

  • Continuous Assessment System

Evaluation criteria:

NOTA= 0,7 x Exam + 0,3 x Grade of the assignments.

- A minimum of 3.5 must be obtained in the exam to make the weighting.

- All assignments must be handed in and approved and an oral presentation of one of the assignments must be given in class.

In any case, students will have the right to be evaluated through the final evaluation system, regardless of whether or not they have participated in the continuous evaluation system. To do so, students must submit in writing to the teacher responsible for the subject the waiver of continuous assessment, for which they will have a period of 9 weeks.

In the event that health conditions prevent the realization of a teaching activity and/or face-to-face evaluation, a non-face-to-face modality will be activated, of which students will be promptly informed.

Extraordinary Call: Orientations and DisclaimerToggle Navigation

For the extraordinary exam, a final exam with 10 points (7 of theory and 3 of practice) must be taken. In order to pass the course it will be necessary to pass both the theoretical and practical parts.

In the event that health conditions prevent the realization of a teaching activity and/or face-to-face evaluation, a non-face-to-face modality will be activated, of which students will be promptly informed.
