Alicia Gascon Gubieda received her Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2015, and her MRes in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Birmingham in 2016. She completed her PhD in Cell Biology at Newcastle University in 2021, titled ‘Feedback mechanisms between PAR polarity effectors and the actomyosin cytoeskeleton’.
After her PhD, Alicia returned to the University of the Basque Country, where she is developing methods to use magnetotactic bacteria as drug delivery agents, and studying degradation of magnetosomes in human cells.
