We find ourselves in a globalised world in which multilingualism has become the standard in the social sphere in general, and in the fields of work and education in particular. That is why language acquisition in multilingual settings has emerged as one of the most popular areas of research in the field of human and social sciences.
This doctoral programme is at the forefront of this field of research, and its researchers are spearheading the study of multilingualism from a linguistic, psycholinguistic, psycho-pedagogical and sociolinguistic perspective.
The programme also studies the role of translation as a tool to facilitate the development of researchers to be able to take on this new multilingual setting. The programme has an extensive network of university collaborators from foreign universities, which helps to promote its international dimension.
