Degree in Biological Sciences and PhD from the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea UPV/EHU (2011), with a scholarship from the Carlos III Health Institute. Interim professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing, in Medicine and Dentistry degrees, within the Immunology, Microbiology and Parasitology Department.
Her research activity has been focused in infectious diseases, in the research group «Respiratory infections and antimicrobial resistance» at the Microbiology Service of the Hospital Universitario Donostia - Instituto Biodonostia since 2006. She has been a researcher at the network Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red Enfermedades Respiratorias (CIBERES), and has completed a training stay at New York Medical College. Recently she has been incorporated to the group «Candidiasis and other human infections associated with microbial biofilms (www.ehu.eus/canbio), catalogued as a consolidated research group type A of the Basque University System (GIC 15 78 IT 990-16).
In the last 10 years she has participated in 7 competitive projects (in 1 as the principal investigator), in an international collaborative network, has published 16 scientific articles, 1 book chapter, has presented 32 communications at congresses and participated in outreach activities such as Zientzia Astea and Zientzia Azoka.
