Description
It is planned as a course with compulsory attendance, with a theoretical explanation of each of the modules, which will be accompanied by a series of practical exercises which the participants must perform throughout the sessions.
Results
The doctoral student will acquire the necessary tools to access, evaluate, use and disseminate information in an ethical manner.
Assessment systems
It is an on-site seminar, and therefore attendance is compulsory and will be monitored by means of signatures for each of the modules. At the end of the activity the tutor will be given a report allowing an assessment of the acquisition of the skills associated with this activity.

Description
Information and training on the possibilities of the new information and communication technologies for historical research with regard to resources for the editing and dissemination of information, multimedia products, utility and use of Internet search engines, digital libraries, online catalogues of archives, libraries and museums, digital image processing and automated management of bibliographical references (Endnote, REFWORKS, etc.).
Results
At the end of the seminar the doctoral student should be able to skilfully handle the resources of the new information and communication technologies, especially those related to search engines and the management of primary and secondary sources necessary for his or her doctoral research.
Assessment systems
Attendance will be controlled and the students' presentation of the exercises will be required so that they can be evaluated by the person responsible for the seminar.

Description
Participation of the student, with his or her own original contribution to the research topic, in national and international scientific debates.
Results
The doctoral student should be able to present, argue and defend a personal and original work (report or paper) related to his or her research topic in a specialized environment.
Assessment systems
Presentation of the certificate for attendance at the conference and, if appropriate, the publication of the report or paper in the corresponding minutes.

Description
The thesis as a learning activity and a means of acquiring skills for research and the transmission of scientific knowledge. The following aspects, among others, are analysed: the choice of subject and the formulation of hypotheses, search, selection and handling of sources, organization of materials, structure and argumentation, aspects of writing and defence of the thesis and publication of the results.
Results
Con este seminario se pretende que el doctorando adquiera los conocimientos prácticos de carácter básico necesarios para afrontar con éxito la elaboración y redacción de la tesis doctoral.
Assessment systems
As well as monitoring attendance, the professor responsible for delivering the course will evaluate the synthesis of the doctoral thesis project submitted by each student. Part-time students can replace attendance of the theoretical part with the presentation of a written work on the specific bibliography indicated by the person responsible for the seminar.

Description
Predoctoral training at international universities and research centres on problems being researched.
Results
The doctoral student should be able to present, argue and defend his or her work in a specialized environment.
Assessment systems
Presentation of the corresponding certificate of the university or research centre with a report on the student's performance, issued by the responsible professor or researcher, and a brief final report on the student's results on the stay.

Description
Participation in seminars organized by the research groups or teams of the Doctoral Program, or other related doctoral programs, both Spanish and foreign, with the participation of guest professors and researchers, on methodological and conceptual issues related to the new historiographical trends (in history, history of art and archaeology) and related social sciences (anthropology, sociology, law, political science, economics and geography) and their application in research and historical analysis.
Results
The methodology and the conceptual and theoretical apparatus of history and, if appropriate, related social sciences. To acquire skills for the formulation of one's own work hypotheses and the selection of methodological strategies applied to doctoral research.
Assessment systems
The doctoral student must submit the attendance certificate corresponding to each seminar and a written report providing specific evidence of having assimilated the contents, as well as his or her capacity for critical analysis with regard to the proposals presented at the seminar.
