Biography
Ander Martin earned her BS in Chemistry department from University of the Basque Country at Chemistry Faculty (San Sebastián) in July 2016. He worked with self-healing polyurethanes in Polymat (University of the Basque Country). In September 2016, he started his M.Sc. in Polymat working on the synthesis of small molecules under the supervision of Dr. Haritz Sardon and Prof. David Mecerreyes. After, in April, 2017, he joined to Long Research Group at Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, Virginia) to work on the synthesis of new phosphonium ionic liquids and isocyanate free polyuria’s under the supervision of Prof. Timothy E. Long. He completed his M.Sc. in Polymat in October 2017.
Research
Ander joined University of the Basque Country in January, 2018 as part of the European Project Biodest. He is doing a PhD focused on sugar extraction and conversion from lignocellulosic biomass, mainly from hemicellulose and cellulose, directed by Prof. Jalel Labidi and Dr. Itziar Egüés.
