In response to the health emergency situation declared by the Basque Government and the state of alarm declared by the Spanish Government, without any prejudice to measures which may be taken in the next few days, UPV/EHU has decided to suspend, from next Monday March 16th at 15:00 hours, all in-presence activities of all university community members in their centres, except for those dedicated to the maintenance of essential services, which will be established via the Rector’s resolution.
In the three Campuses, all cafeterias and other service concession activities will be closed, except, for the time being, those corresponding to university residence and halls. Miguel de Unamuno Residence Hall will remain open offering basic services unless other measures need to be taken. All other premises will be closed from Monday March 16th at 15:00 hours.
UPV/EHU will apply teleworking for university staff members for all services which are not deemed essential. All staff involved in the maintenance of essential services will take the necessary measures to safeguard their health.
No travelling is allowed for working purposes outside the university, except those deemed absolutely necessary and which will need to be expressly authorized by the Rector or her delegate. All travelling permits authorized for a starting date later than March 16th are suspended.
The University of the Basque Country strongly appeals again to all the university community to strictly follow the public health recommendations issued by the health authorities.
