The Department of Health of the Basque Government has decided to suspend, for the time being, all in-presence teaching activities starting from March 10th until March 23rd, in all the different centres in the Campus of Alava at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). This situation affects around 8,000 students in the Campus of Alava and in the face of it, the public university is planning to implement alternative measures to ensure that all our students can continue their regular learning activities.

On the other hand, university activities unrelated to teaching will continue undisrupted in all the buildings in the Campus of Alava. We remind all Teaching and Research as well as Administrative staff to strongly comply with the specific recommendations issued by the Department of Health.

The rectorate team at UPV/EHU keeps in permanent contact with the Departments of Health and Education of the Basque Government and last Thursday a special coordination group made up of representatives of different vicerectorates and all centres was set up to manage the situation. In the face of the suspension of in-presence teaching activities in the Campus of Alava, the group's immediate efforts are now concentrated on developing alternative plans for online teaching modalities. In this respect, each centre has designed an action plan which takes into consideration the particular characteristics of their different degrees. The University will make use of all its resources to comply with this objective and each centre will duly inform their students about the specific details of the online teaching implementations.
