The Doctoral Programme in Social Communication is committed to excellence in post-graduate studies. Its objective is to train professionals in theoretical and methodological aspects for innovation and social change, from a perspective of equality and social justice. This training is useful for pursuing an academic career, for encouraging quality research, and to promote insertion in the business sector.
The aim is to ensure that people who access this level of education can prepare a doctoral thesis and perform an essential role in all institutions involved in innovation, research, generation and transfer of R+D.
Due to these characteristics, the programme offers different lines of research: cyber-journalism; communication and public relations; the effects of mass-media; corporate strategies and Internet; structure and economy of communication; audio-visual studies; film; information society; communication and health; journalistic narratives; and, in general, all lines of research related to social communication.
