The Doctoral Programme in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine has been ongoing at the UPV/EHU for over a decade, under different names. It aims to turn young graduates from different degree courses into professional scientists, specialising in the programme's principal disciplines.
The main objective of this doctorate is to train researchers through their immersion in top class research labs, which are recommended due to their productivity in defended doctoral theses and in quality publications derived from said theses.
Within the generic title of the programme, five main lines of research can be defined: membrane and protein biophysics, molecular biology of diseases, molecular genetics of cancer and autoimmunity, pathophysiology of lipids and lipidomic techniques, and cell signalling, proteomics and biotechnology.
The programme is mainly based at the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing at the UPV/EHU, as well as at the Institute of Biophysics, the Biocruces Health Research Institute, and the Biogune/Biomagune Centres for Cooperative Research.
