The Doctoral Programme in Linguistics, which aims to train doctoral candidates in any of the various fields of linguistics, offers the right framework for the study of natural languages: understood as complex structures subjected to universal patterns rooted in the human mind, as well as historical products of different societies and human communities across the planet.
The programme brings together two research groups: one in Theoretical Linguistics, dedicated to formal research and analysis and the diachronic development of language structures; and the other in Experimental Linguistics, centred on bilingualism, the neurocognitive aspects of language, and adult and child language acquisition.
